China 1 is a basic Chinese take out place. Very reliable, always open and food is ready in minutes. Reasonable prices, hard to find these days. I like their Singapore Mei Fun and their barbecue pork
This is my number 1 go to for chinese food In Roosevelt Island. And only place lol. They know how to make my favorite dish, shrimp, egg foo young . Not every place can make it, but this place knows what they're doing. It's always light and airy and taste perfect. I also order pork, fried rice, fried chicken, wings, ribs, chicken, and broccoli everything I've ordered here has been delicious.
China 1 is a great go to take out for Chinese food, I'm surprised its rating is mid here. I order here perhaps 3 or 4 times a month. The prices have gone up since the pandemic but it's still pretty affordable. Broccoli bean curd and general tso's tofu are both amazing. The delivery guy is always super nice too even though our dogs are crazy. :)
So you have to order the right stuff here. I was pretty wrong when I wrote my initial review. The roasted duck with rice here is pretty amazing actually. I highly recommend it! It's cheaper to call in and pay cash than ordering on Seamless/Grubhub.
